Employment Law

Employers now greater pressure from legal disputes with employees than ever before. When added to increasing workplace regulation, employment relationships have become a challenge for many employers. Our Firm may be able to help. Employment litigation and advice has been the heart of our practice at Lippman, Semsker & Salb since our founding thirty years ago. Our Firm has the skill and experience to help you solve your employment problems. Our strength comes not only from our years of experience but also from the extra effort we invest in understanding our clients' workplaces, their employees, and their managers.

Litigation and Counsel. Our firm enjoys a well-deserved reputation for providing highly effective employment counsel and, when necessary, representation in courts and before administrative agencies. Our firm has won hundreds of cases through advantageous settlements, through summary judgment, and at trial. We have also won appeals in the United States Courts of Appeal.

Alternative Dispute Resolution. Our success in the courtroom has also translated into success in arbitrations and mediations. We have assisted clients in creating alternative dispute resolution procedures and in using those procedures once they are in place.

Employment Policies. The best way to solve problems is to avoid them before they arise. Creating strong and sensitive employment policies is the cheapest insurance you can buy. While good policies cannot avoid all problems, they can often reduce the cost to your business in dollars and morale. Our Firm has assisted companies in designing employment policies in the areas of workplace expectations, employee conduct, and discipline. We have also conducted employee training on policies and diversity.

Employment Agreements. General policies can serve a company well. But specific arrangements are best suited to settling the expectations of the company and its employees in many cases, especially involving high-level executives, highly-paid employees, and professionals. Our Firm has represented parties in dozens of cases involving employment contracts, severance agreements, non-compete clauses, and confidentiality provisions.
